Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne Pinnock shared her first solo project after Jesy Nelson’s break from the band. She has bagged her first ever movie role
Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock has landed her first solo project since Jesy Nelson went on an extended break.
Little Mix have rallied around Jesy, 29, after she has temporarily left the girl group – also made up of Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall – because of “private medical reasons”.
Leigh-Anne, 29, has since teased her first ever movie role in upcoming British romantic comedy Boxing Day.
The singer-turn-actress has plenty of experience filming music videos.
Little Mix’s Leigh-Anne joined an all-black cast for the Christmas comedy movie, according to Deadline.
Actor Aml Ameen will make his debut as a director for the light-hearted film.
It tells the story of a British author (Ameen) who returns to London for Xmas to introduce his American fiancée (Aja Naomi King) to his wild British-Caribbean family.
Can their relationship survive after the author’s past comes to light?
Ameen opened up about bringing Black British Culture to the world in his directorial debut.
He said: “It is such an honor to be teaming up with Warner Bros.
“Pictures, Film4 and BFI to bring Black British Culture to the world in this universal holiday rom-com.
“It’s long been a dream of mine to capture films that reflect the wonderfully multi-cultural city that raised me while sharing stories from the diary of my life.”
Boxing Day has now started production.
