Jade Thirlwall will miss this Saturday’s installment of The Search after being forced to self-isolate for 14 days amid the pandemic.
The Little Mix star, 27, will join her bandmates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson via video call for the live episode of their BBC One talent competition.
Little Mix: The Search released a statement on their official Twitter page on Wednesday evening to confirm the Geordie lass will not be there for the live show.
Although it hasn’t yet been confirmed, it is believed Jade came in contact with someone who has contracted the contagious virus over the past week.
The statement from the show’s production team read: “Jade has to self-isolate this week and will therefore be carrying out her role as Mentor on ‘Little Mix The Search’ from home.
“For this Saturday’s show, Jade will participate via video link, continuing to mentor alongside Jesy, Leigh-Anne and Perrie.”
Following the revelation, worried fans flocked to share their concern and support for the songstress.
“Oh, my goodness poor Jade. I hope she will be okay the poor lass!” shared one fan.
Others added: “Guys I think she’s okay, it just means she’s had contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus, it’s just extra safety precautions.”
“Yeah, she will be fine. And she will hopefully be back soon.”
“When will this dreaded virus end? It’s literally ruining everything!”
The disappointing news comes after the girl group postponed the first live show after members of the programme’s crew tested positive for coronavirus.
At the time, a statement confirmed: “We can confirm that a small number of people on the Little Mix The Search production have tested positive for coronavirus and they are now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines.
“Due to the format of the show we have made the decision to postpone Saturday’s programme.
“There are rigorous protocols in place to manage Covid-19 as the safety of all those involved in the production is paramount. We hope to be back on air on Saturday 24th October.”
