Lili Reinhart is getting real on what it’s like to be famous on a teen drama. After the actress came out as queer earlier this year, she spoke about how she was hesitant to reveal that side of her personal life.
Fans are fixated on the Bughead ‘ship’ on Riverdale. It spilled over to their real lives once Cole Sprouse and Lili started dating.
Although they are believed to have split some time ago, Cole and Lili have been transparent about hating the invasiveness that comes with having a relationship in the public eye. They’ve also dealt with people trying to project what they think their relationship should be like on them.
These factors could play a part in what anyone decides to share about their personal life; however, it’s even more understandable why Reinhart felt there would be backlash about speaking on her sexuality.

She explained to Flaunt Magazine: ‘I knew full well that I was attracted to women from a young age. I felt that since I’ve exclusively been in heteronormative relationships, it would be too easy for any outsider, especially the media, to vilify me and accuse me of faking it to get attention. That’s not something I wanted to deal with. But to my close friends, and those in my life, my bisexuality has been no secret.’
She explained that the energy she felt at a Black Lives Matter LGBTQ+ rally is what inspired her to come out.
‘It was incredible to be surrounded by so many people who are actively fighting against the injustices that are happening right now.’
Shortly after, she took to Instagram where she announced that she was a proud bisexual woman.
It’s great to see that she is setting a great example for the younger generation that they can be themselves no matter what anyone else thinks.
