Although jewellery can drastically change in price, sometimes it’s the cheap and effective methods that work best to clean and optimise its lifespan.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kylie Jenner approved an old fashioned cleaning hack by putting the method to good use to clean her own favourite jewellery.
The most common and effective way to clean jewellery is with the inexpensive 88p trick of using white vinegar and baking soda.
The mum-of-two shared the process of her cleaning a piece of her favourite jewellery with her whopping 345m followers on Instagram.
Kylie, 24, used the old fashioned and popular method to clean a silver skull ring – purchased in her teenage years.

The billionaire opted for the cheap and effective cleaning hack after a quick Google search as she followed the tip from Happy House Cleaning.
The cleaning tip read: “Put the silver items in a bowl of appropriate size and cover them with white distilled vinegar.
“Add baking soda into the bowl – the approximate proportions are 4 tablespoons of baking sofa for every cup of vinegar.”

Once the white vinegar and the baking soda are combined, the solution fizzes to create an effective cleaning liquid for your jewellery.
The instructions state that you should “leave the silver in the mixture” for at least one hour to optimise your results.
Once the hour is up, you should “rinse with clean water” and then dry off the item with a “soft cotton cloth”.

At major supermarket retailer Aldi, a bottle of Bramwells Distilled Vinegar is available to purchase for a bargain price of just 29p.
Aldi’s The Pantry Bicarbonate Of Soda will cost just 59p, totalling the cleaning hack to an affordable 88p.
However, Kylie used Arm and Hammer’s Pure Baking Soda, which costs just £3.43 at certain retailers such as Amazon.
The simple yet effective cleaning trick has been a popular tradition amongst households for years and is even effective with cleaning appliances such as ovens, washing machines and even clogged drains.
