Kerry Katona has ‘utmost respect’ for Ray Quinn over £11.40 an hour delivery driver job
Atomic Kitten star Kerry, 40, praised Ray for not letting the pandemic’s effect on the entertainment industry knock his worth ethic
Kerry Katona says she’s got the “utmost respect” for Dancing On Ice winner Ray Quinn after he bagged a delivery driver job that pockets him £11.40 an hour.
The actor has been delighting fans while delivering parcels to their doors – and posing for selfies.
And now Atomic Kitten star Kerry, 40, has praised Ray for not letting the pandemic’s effect on the entertainment industry knock his worth ethic.
Writing in her New! mag column, Kerry penned: “Good on Ray Quinn!
“Last week it was revealed that he’s been working as a delivery driver for £11 an hour. He’s always been a grafter, so fair play to him.”
The mum-of-five went on: “It doesn’t matter if you’re a Dancing On Ice winner like Ray, or in my case, a Jungle Queen – we all fall on hard times occasionally and there’s no shame in providing for your family.
“We all have to earn money and put food on the table.
“Ray could easily have slid into a cycle of depression, knowing 2020 has brought the entertainment industry to its knees, but instead he’s getting on with it and I have the utmost respect for him.”
News of his new job became known earlier this month, when a source told The Sun : “Times are tough and no one can be snobby about work.
“Ray is a hard-grafting lad, and naturally loves being on the move, doing things and seeing people. He feared getting bored so applied for a job with Hermes and has been dropping off packages ever since.
“It’s kept him busy and he’s really popular — especially with fans who want a selfie. It’s brilliant he’s doing this – more and more people are bound to follow suit.”
Ray, 32, made his name in lights as an actor on Brookside and as a singer where he came second place to Leona Lewis in The X Factor 2006 series.
Later, the actor had success when he went onto win Dancing on Ice in 2009 and the All Stars version in 2014.
Most recently, he had a stint on Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as character Jonny Baxter in 2018.
