Kerry Katona defends BFF Katie Price after puppy’s death in animal cruelty row

Kerry Katona stood up for her BFF Katie Price after her pooch’s tragic accident sparked an animal cruelty row.

The Atomic Kitten star, 39, had no qualms revealing where her true loyalties were following the unfortunate death of French Bulldog pup Rolo.

Animal rights campaigners launched a scathing attack on Katie after Rolo suffocated when he got stuck under an armchair in a freak accident.

But Kerry had her reality star best friend’s back as she sympathised she knows the heart-shattering devastation of losing a dog.

She wrote in her new! column : “I don’t know anything about the ins and outs of what happened but I’ve no doubt Katie will get some stick from people over the tragedy.

“As someone who’s lost a dog, I know how hard it can be, so please send the family lots of love and don’t blame Katie. She will be beside herself right now.”

Kerry focused on the special connection Princess had built with her late pup Rolo.

She added: “My heart absolutely breaks for Katie Price and her daughter Princess following the unexpected death of their puppy Rolo.

“We were lucky enough to have the dog along with us on our recent break and he was the sweetest little thing who never left Princess’s side. She adored him and she’s heartbroken. Even now I can still feel his tiny little paw in my hand.”

Generous Katie had gifted Rolo to Princess for her 13th birthday after her dad Peter Andre refused to buy her a dog.

In a sad twist, the pup died just weeks after moving into his loving home.

Katie explained she frantically tried to perform CPR to bring the puppy back to life but her efforts proved fruitless.

She said: “So I know the fans are asking what’s happened to the dog.

“Basically I was in the other room because we’re going on holiday, packing their suitcases, and there was five people in the other room, so people saying the puppy was left, it wasn’t left at all.

“And it just got stuck under one of the chairs.”

It’s been a tough few weeks for Katie with her eldest son Harvey in a 10-day hospital stay as well as a string of break-ins at her mucky mansion in Sussex.

But she’s whisked her middle children Princess and Junior off to Turkey with her new boyfriend Carl Woods for a holiday.
