Kerry Katona has made the decision to cover up her tribute tattoo in honour of late ex-husband George Kay in a bid to start afresh.

The former Atomic Kitten star, 39, lost her ex-husband to a suspected drugs overdose at a hotel in Cheshire last July, after he was caught by reception staff “eating” cocaine off the desk.

Kerry – who shared six-year-old daughter Dylan-Jorge with George – headed to a tattoo parlour to cover up a tattoo that she got in honour of him.

Taking her personal trainer boyfriend Ryan Mahoney, 32, with her, Kerry seemed in good spirits as she braved the pain.

Kerry opted for a pretty design of leaves along her wrist down to her knuckles, as she showed off the stunning design after a few hours in the chair.

Before George’s tragic death, Kerry accused him of multiple instances of domestic abuse against her, and the pair had been estranged at the time of his death.

After striking up a romance in 2012, the pair tied the knot in 2014, before divorcing three years later in 2017.

George had a history of mental health issues and drug use.

Kerry has finally been able to move on from the devastating news as she is smitten with new man Ryan.

In fact, Kerry – who turns 40 in September – admitted she hopes Ryan will pop the question some time soon.

She even floated her 40th birthday as a potential date, and told she’d been looking at rings.

Chatting with new! magazine, Kerry revealed: “I’d love Ryan to propose. I’d love to marry him and maybe for my 40th he could get down on one knee – hint hint!”

“I can’t see my life with anyone else,” she gushed, “I trust him implicitly.”

The pair have been an item for two years, and live with her kids Molly, 18, Lilly-Sue, 17, Heidi, 13, Maxwell, 12 and Dylan-Jorge.

Kerry and the personal trainer met on dating app Bumble, and have enjoyed a romance since.

If Ryan did propose, he would become Kerry’s fourth husband.

She was married to Brian McFadden between 2002 and 2006, Mark Croft from 2007 to 2011, and most recently, to George.
