Katy Perry glows as she performs live at AMAs for first time since welcoming baby
New mum Katy Perry sang her heart out as she took to the stage at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday
Katy Perry and fiance Orlando Bloom welcomed their baby daughter Daisy in August.
And on Sunday the Roar hitmaker was back to business as she took to the stage at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles and performed an intimate version of her track Only Love.
New mum Katy – whose performance was the first since she gave birth – sat on a wooden chair on the dimly lit stage at the Microsoft theatre as she belted out the lyrics to the song from her latest album Smile.
The 36-year-old radiated happiness as she sang live – alongside country music star Darius Rucker – whilst dressed in denim jeans and an oversized denim jacket.
The five-time AMA winner – who first performed at the music event in 2010 – had sported her platinum tresses down in a straight style that framed her pretty face and she accentuated her natural beauty with glowing makeup.
Prior to the performance, the This Is How We Do musician took to Instagram to reveal that her AMA performance was dedicated to her dad.
Alongside a throwback snap that showed her as a tiny tot being kissed by her father, she penned: “Tonight’s @amas performance is for my father.”
Last month, Katy returned to work on the fourth season of American Idol.
The star is on the judging panel of the US talent series alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
In September, talented Katy opened up about returning to work while also juggling new mum duties.
In a series of tweets, the Smile songstress spoke of her experience of motherhood and how it was a ‘full time job’.
“Popular misconception: being a mom isn’t a full-time job,” Katy penned.
“Part 2: when a mom finally goes back to work (whatever profession they do) it’s not like they been coming from months of ‘time off …’ she’s coming from a full time job … of being a mom, lol.”
She then added: “Part 3: call your mom and tell her you love and appreciate her and advocate for paid family leave!”
In a final tweet she added that she ‘loved her job’ as a mum.
