Katie Price is worried that coronavirus would “finish Harvey off” as she helps her 29 stone son on a more healthier path.
The 42-year-old former glamour model has undertaken a daily exercise routine with Harvey, who has the the rare genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome, which can cause behavioural problems and for him to put on weight.
Harvey is also partially blind and on the autistic spectrum and Katie is determined to get him to a place where he might be able to fight the virus, if he was to fall ill with it.
He has already caused concern when he was struck with breathing problems and a temperature of 42C, which saw him rushed to intensive care in July.
Harvey spent 10 days in Epson hospital at that time, with symptoms of coronavirus, but eventually managed to pull through.
Katie has also said that her mum Amy, who was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017, is also in the high risk category and she is another who she fears might be struck down by the killer virus.
Speaking to The Sun, Katie said: “My mum and Harvey are very high risk. You can hear him breathing.
“Because he is a big boy you can just hear him breathing. Even if he gets a cold that is bad.”
Katie shared her grave fears for Harvey, saying: “If he gets Covid it would probably finish him off. That is not a joke.”
She added that as a family they are being “really, really, really careful.”
Katie revealed last month that doctors were concerned about the health implications for Harvey as his weight topped 29 stone.
The reality star said that doctors told her “he’s at high risk of having a heart attack” and that he “gets out of breath walking up the stairs.”
She has now made it her “mission” to get him exercising every day, though she is not pushing him as “anything is better than nothing.”
