Kate McKinnon has joined the long list of stars paying tribute to SCOTUS Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg after her passing at the age of 87. As you know, the SNL star has also portrayed the legendary jurist on the comedy show so it was only right to remember her.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg has lost the battle with pancreatic cancer but she will never be forgotten since she’s left behind such a notable legacy.
And since Kate McKinnon has been portraying the Supreme Court Justice on Saturday Night Live since 2015, she was one of the many who made sure to acknowledge her passing but also her amazing life.
Sadly enough, however, one of the running gags McKinnon used while portraying Ginsburg was that she was willing to do whatever it takes to stay healthy and live for a long time, at least until after Donald Trump’s presidency comes to an end!
With the presidential elections only a month away, Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away at the respectable age of 87 on September 18, after battling pancreatic cancer.

A rep for Kate McKinnon shared via HollywoodLife in the aftermath of the legend’s passing that: ‘For so many of us, Justice Ginsburg was a real life superhero: a beacon of hope, warrior for justice, robed crusader who just saved the day time and again. Playing her on SNL was a huge joy because I could feel the overwhelming love and gratitude the audience had for her. It was one of the great honors in my life to meet Justice Ginsburg, shake her hand, and to thank her for a lifetime of service to this country.’
Kate McKinnon got to meet Ruth Bader Ginsburg last year in August when both women attended an all-Yiddish Fiddler on the Roof production at the off-Broadway Stage 42 Theater. They shook hands and posed together, making history!
