Kate Ferdinand is reportedly finding her pregnancy tougher than she’s ever imagined.
The former TOWIE star, 29, is currently expecting her first child, a baby boy, with former footballer husband Rio Ferdinand.
Already the star is the step mum to her husband’s kids Lorenz 14, Tate, 12, and nine-year-old Tia.
And Kate admits her pregnancy journey has been nothing short of a “struggle”.
She recently told fans: “I am hugely struggling with my lower back and groin! I’ve always had back problems, but this is really taking its toll.
“I don’t like to moan too much on here but the reality is I am struggling, some days it’s manageable and others by the end of the day It’s a struggle to even stand up.”
What’s more, Kate’s mental health has also taken a hit as expecting a baby has reportedly “brought up some old anxieties and worries”.
An insider told Heat : “Although Kate is loving being pregnant and everyone is so excited about the baby, being pregnant has brought up some old anxieties and worries.
“She’s always been very open about her mental health struggles and this has been no different and has brought on different stresses and sometimes she just needs some time out away from everything.”
The source added: “This year has been very full-on, and she struggles to cope at times, but is so thankful to Rio and the kids for supporting her.
“She often feels under pressure to try and make her life perfect and doesn’t want to disrupt the kids’ lives, but it can all be too much at times and she can feel on the edge.”
Blossoming Kate has also opened up to fans to tell them she is “hugely struggling” with pain in her lower back and groin in her first pregnancy.
Kate explained that she is finding it difficult to deal with “losing the ability to move freely”.
She candidly told fans: “People’s lives may look a certain way from social media and everything can look perfect but this doesn’t mean they don’t have internal struggles.
“It’s OK to feel overwhelmed and unstable even when everything looks perfect from the outside.”
She added: “Mental health is something I have struggled with for as far back as I can remember …. it can be a rocky journey, and one that we have to take with care, being kind to ourselves can be one of the hardest things to do.
“I just really wanted to say to everyone who is struggling you are not alone.”
Kate and Rio’s first child is due to arrive in December.
