Johnny Depp told a group of children he had eaten the tip of his own finger in a shocking unearthed interview.
The clip, shared by a fan on TikTok, shows the actor dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies as he visited children in hospital in 2015.
The 57-year-old had one of his fingers wrapped in a bandage.
He was asked by one of the children: “What happened to your finger?”
He replied: “My finger? I bruised it very badly. I ate it. I bit it off.
“I was starving!”
As the children chuckle around him, Depp adds: “I was, I was starving. I bit my finger, I ate it! The tip of it, just a little.
“The nail wasn’t good.”
The child interviewing him then shushed him and he turned to look at her, saying: “All right.”
The fan who shared it on TikTok added the words “If only we knew then…” over the top of it.
Earlier this year, the injury was much-discussed at Depp’s libel trial against News Group Newspapers after he sued them over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which labeled him a “wife beater”.
Depp had vehemently denied the claims and said that it was Heard who was abusive to him – claims she then denied.
Pictures of his gruesome finger injury were shown in court and he alleged she had severed his finger during an explosive argument during a 2015 trip to Australia, while he was filming the franchise.
He claimed he needed hospital treatment after she hurled a glass vodka bottle at him.
He claimed that a row had broken out between them and he had gone into the bar in their rented home to escape.
Depp claimed he had broken his sobriety by downing a shot of vodka, which then prompted Heard to throw the bottle at him.
However, Heard claimed that Depp was high when he injured his finger by smashing a plastic phone against a wall.
After hearing all of the evidence, a judge at London’s High Court found that Depp had beat Heard on 12 occasions.
The judge awarded victory to the publisher, saying: “I have found that the great majority of alleged assaults of Ms Heard by Mr Depp have been proved to the civil standard.”
Mr Justice Nicol dismissed the actor’s claim, saying NGN had proved what was in the article to be “substantially true”.
The judge said: “The claimant has not succeeded in his action for libel.
“Although he has proved the necessary elements of his cause of action in libel, the defendants have shown that what they published in the meaning which I have held the words to bear was substantially true.
“I have reached these conclusions having examined in detail the 14 incidents on which the defendants rely as well as the overarching considerations which the claimant submitted I should take into account.”
As part of his findings, the judge found that Depp beat Heard 12 of the 14 times he was alleged to have been violent towards her.
Depp has since announced he will be appealing Mr Justice Nicol’s finding.
Jenny Afia of law firm Schillings, which represented Depp in the case, said in a statement: “This decision is as perverse as it is bewildering.
