Joe Budden Claims He Rejected Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Request For A Podcast Appearence

As most know by now, Tekashi 6ix9ine isn’t exactly a fan favorite – at least among his contemporaries in the rap world. Hot New Hip Hop reported today that Joe Budden recently came out to say that 6ix9ine’s team reached out to him and Gillie Da King for an interview, but Joe declined.

Fans of the performing artist know he’s about to drop a new record, Tattle Tales, but some reports have indicated it’s not going to sell as much as Daniel Hernandez hoped.

Hot New Hip Hop reported this week that Daniel, also known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, appeared on Fox News, The Shade Room, as well with one of the Paul Brothers to share “his side of the story.” Hernandez has clearly been trying to get his name out there, but Joe isn’t willing to help him out with any press at all.

According to Budden, it immediately became clear to him that Tekashi 6ix9ine just wanted to sit next to someone who is respected in the hip-hop world, just to get recognition, respect, and also increased album sales due to the exposure.

Budden also argued that it was a way for Tekashi 6ix9ine to continuously antagonize other rappers who don’t want to associate with him anymore. Joe asked the member of 6ix9ine’s team why he wouldn’t do an interview with DJ Akademiks, however, he suddenly realized it was about more than coverage.

It was about sitting next to someone who would immediately give him credit as an artist. Joe went on to say that he as “looking for a co-sign” on his reputation. Budden then commented on the lackluster performance of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s latest record, which he claims is a great example of what really makes an album successful.

Budden claimed it wasn’t how many copies it sells, but rather what goes into it financially and what comes out of it. As most know, Tekashi 6ix9ine has been stirring controversy ever since he got out of prison earlier this year.

He dropped a number of successful singles but reports claim he’s now falling out of favor among his fans.
