Jimmy Carr has opened up about going under the knife to get a new hairline and undergoing injections to smooth his wrinkled skin.

The 48-year-old comedian and game show host stunned fans earlier this year when he debuted a new head of hair during an appearance on Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer.

And now the star has revealed he also loves an occasional Botox injection to stop the ravages of ageing – while explained he also had word done on his teeth to change his appearance.

Jimmy has been on screens since the turn of the century, but is refreshingly honest about his attempts to turn back the clock on his looks.

Speaking on Just For Laughs, the star confessed to enjoying: “a bit of Botox here and there, nothing too alarming.”

He went on to declare: “I’ve had a lot of work done. I got my teeth knocked out and put back in. And then I had a hair transplant in the lockdown, which I didn’t particularly need, but what else are you going to do in lockdown?”

Opening up about his Botox indulgences, he said: “I was seeing a guy, getting a bit of Botox, and I was chatting to him and he said, ‘Oh I do Simon Cowell,’ and I went, ‘Yeah I think I better leave’. ‘What have you done . . . he looks like a melted candle’.”

In the same chat, Jimmy opened up about losing his virginity at the age of 26.

He said: “Really late. I was quite religious growing up. It’s like talking about someone you remember from school.

“You go, ‘Oh yeah they were some weird decisions. What was I thinking?’ “I wasn’t beating them off with a s***y stick. I was awkward before I found comedy. It feels like finding comedy was self-affirming.”

Back in June, Jimmy caused a stir when he appeared on Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer while sporting thicker hair.

He explained his decision to go under the knife at the time, saying: “So what happened was my hair was socially distancing from my forehead and I’d had enough of it.

“I shaved my head and what they do is take hairs from the back of your head and they put them on the front.
