Jake Quickenden’s involvement on Celebrity SAS: Who Wins Dares appears to be in jeopardy after he became injured during filming.
The 32-year-old singer and tv presenter had been participating in the upcoming new season of the tough army themed reality show which is filming on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
But he had to be flown to London for treatment after ripping muscles in his pectorals and a bicep while hoisting heavy objects out of water.
Jake was considered to be one of the top priorities for the forthcoming new series of the show – and now it’s unclear if he will be able to continue.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “The injury is quite serious and Jake could have to go under the knife to try to rectify it.
“He was pulling a boat out the water during one of the challenges and tore his muscles.”
Earlier this month, Jake was revealed to be heading off to compete on the intensive reality show which puts celebs through the training that SAS soldiers experience.
According to sources at the time, the former X Factor star had been high on the wish list of producers to take part – believing he would have the stamina to sustain the tough training on the show.
A source revealed he had been considered alongside Olympic legend James Cracknell, with the mole explaining: James and Jake are super-fit and should do well given their past pursuits in challenging TV shows.
“Bosses are keen to have people who won’t collapse at the first hurdle.”
Jake previously competed on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2014, where he proved he is happy to be left in harsh camp conditions and forced to endure physical challenges.
Past Celebrity SAS contestants have included Katie Price and Jack Maynard – who both quit the 2020 series after struggling to keep up with the training.
