I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here star Shane Richie is set to return to the West End shortly after leaving the ITV show.

The 56-year-old former EastEnders star – who was evicted from Gwrych Castle during yesterday’s semi-finals – will be returning to the hit show Everybody’s Talking About Jamie in the new year.

Having previously played a role in the show in 2019 and on tour, Shane is set to reprise his role of Hugo/Loco Chanelle in the popular show.

The exciting news come just one day after Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed he had received the fewest votes and would be leaving I’m A Celebrity.

Speaking about his return to the stage, Shane said he was excited to swap his castle gear for a pair of high heels.

“I can’t wait to swap my castle walking boots for a pair of high heels and return to Everybody’s Talking About Jamie as Hugo / Loco Chanelle in January,” Shane said.

He added: “After 2020 we could all do with little bit of glitter in the grey and having been with Jamie both in the West End and on UK Tour it’s going to be a fabulous way to start the New Year.”

Shane has become the latest celebrity contestant to be sent packing from the popular ITV show, narrowly missing out on tonight’s final.

After leaving the castle, Shane caught up with Ant and Dec called for anyone taking part in the show next year to “embrace” the experience, adding: “You can’t fake it in here.”

In his exit interview he also said he hoped that Giovanna Fletcher was crowned Queen of the Castle.

“I’d love to see Mumma G to win… she’s been there from the beginning,” Shane told the presenters.
