Sir Paul McCartney ‘s incredible stint in The Beatles meant that his every move was captured in the spotlight, including his fair share of love, loss and heartache.
The singer was rocked into fame at the age of just 21 after the Fab Four – and very quickly became one of the most famous musicians of all time.
The superstar has had a string of romances in the public eye, including the tragic death of his wife of 30 years, Linda McCartney – and a bitter £24m+ divorce settlement with Heather Mills.
Ahead of his marriage to former model Heather – he married photographer Linda – who he went on to marry up until she died in 1998.

The pair originally during a trip to New York City in 1968 and wed just six months after dating – they were married for 30 years and had three children – Mary, Stella and James.
After Linda passed away, Paul spoke about his heartache: “I think I cried for about a year on and off.”
“You expect to see them walk in, this person you love, because you are so used to them,” he said.
A year after Linda’s death, the singer met Heather – who is now 54 – little did he know at the time, but she would walk away with £24.3 million in a divorce settlement.

The pair originally crossed paths at an event where he presented an award in Linda’s name.
Heather had lost part of her leg during a crash with a police motorbike and later went on to write a memoir titled: “Out on a Limb” while campaigning against land mines.
The pair married in 2002 and had a daughter together named Beatrice.
However, Stella, Paul’s other daughter – who he shares with Linda – famously didn’t see eye-to-eye with Heather.

Heather told The Things: “Every week [Stella] tried to break up our marriage.”
“She was so jealous. She wasn’t interested in her dad’s happiness.
“I can’t protect her any longer. She’s done some evil, evil things.”
After a series of explosive rows, the couple divorced in 2006 – although Heather had first demanded £125million when the couple split, Paul offered £15.8million.
“I’m so glad it’s over,” Heather told reporters at the time.
“It was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and Beatrice’s future and all the charities I plan on helping,” she added.
Following the bitter divorce, the former Beatles star described his marriage to Heather as one of the biggest mistakes of his life.
In 2008, he was asked if it was his worst error in the last decade, he replied: “OK, yeah. I suppose that has to be the prime contender.”
Macca avoided bad-mouthing his ex and said: “I don’t want to down anyone. These things happen.
“I tend to look at the positive side, which is that I have another beautiful daughter out of it,” he added.

During an interview with Q magazine, he revealed his happiness with new love Nancy Shevell – whom he dated during his divorce battle.
He was asked to name “the best things about this century” and said: “Just being with my children. And having a new girlfriend.
“That is very nice, thank you.”
After the couple originally met in 2008, Paul popped the question in 2011.
The lovebirds went on to marry a few months later at Old Marylebone Town Hall – the same location where he married Linda.
The Liverpudlian wrote popular song My Valentine about the New York businesswoman.
The couple – who celebrated their decade-long marriage last year – do not have any children together.

Paul – who is headlining Glastonbury festival on Saturday, 25 June – has revealed that he is ‘loving the cosmic vibes” of the festival ahead of his headline set.
Sir Paul wrote in his book The Lyrics: “I loved the idea that we were probably on the confluence of ley lines, the lines that criss-cross the globe and along which our ancestors are thought to have set up significant sites.
“Glastonbury is also said to be the place where King Arthur is buried.
“So, one way or another, it’s a very special place and it has a very definite vibe,” he added.
“There is simply no denying that it has a distinct aura.
“Ever since the 1960s I’ve been interested in constellations, cosmology and cosmic sounds.”
The rock star will take to the stage after the Covid-19 pandemic cancelled the festival in both 2021 and 2021.
Paul is not the only headliner for the event – with other stars making an appearance, including Diana Ross, Kendrick Lamar, and Billie Eilish – who has made history as the show’s youngest-ever headliner.
