Hollyoaks star Chelsee Healey says her daughter, 5, has been targeted with sick racist abuse.

The actress, 33, who plays Goldie McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, revealed that Coco has been subjected to the taunts since she was a baby.

Admitting she was heartbroken reading the cruel comments, Chelsee said: “My daughter gets sent racist abuse through social media.

“I’ve been sent a lot of messages about Coco. When it’s about an innocent child it’s not nice. It’s heartbreaking. But I try not to reply back. I don’t entertain it,” she told the Daily Sta r.

The mum-of-one, who shares Coco with her ex Jack Malloy, explained that she has also been trolled online.

Recalling the backlash she received while on Strictly Come Dancing, she said: “When I was on Strictly, I got a lot of hate. It’s such a big show – that was the first time a lot of people had seen me. I got called ‘hippo’ and things like that.

“I’m quite thick-skinned. But when they send stuff about your child it’s a completely different ballgame.”

However she did say she gets nice tweets and praised Hollyoaks’ liaison officer, who she said she can speak to whenever she needs to as well as the rest of the cast.

The actress has had a tough time of late after the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend Jake McLean.

Chelsee dated Jake in 2020, but remained friends after they struggled to make their long-distance relationship work.
