Former Celebrity Big Brother star Heavy D is believed to have died of a heart attack.
An official cause of death has not yet been released, but it’s thought that the star died from a suspected heart attack at age 47.
His death was announced on Twitter yesterday by a friend.
Heavy – real name Colin Newell – is said to have been found dead on his kitchen floor by his brothers after he had been missing for almost two weeks.
The star hadn’t posted on social media since November 14, and that was also when a witness last saw him.
Lorna Onabanjo, who lives near the late star’s home in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, said she had become worried about him after not hearing from him.
She said he had seemed down lately.
She told MailOnline : “I did my best to raise his spirits but then he went home and no one ever heard of him again.”
She was contacted by Heavy’s family who passed on the sad news of his death.
She added: “Some of his brothers went around to his home in North London and they saw his body through a window on the kitchen floor.
“At the moment it’s suspected he died of a heart attack but we won’t know until after a post mortem.”
Heavy’s friend Nick Nevern confirmed the tragedy yesterday, writing on Twitter : “I’m very shocked & saddened to hear of the passing of my friend @HeavyHeavyd.
“u lived ur life the way u wanted to & f**k anyone who didn’t like it! U always brought a smile to my face bro & lifted any room you where in. #RIPHeavyD.”
Mirror Online understands the star died after “going missing” for a fortnight.
His brother Patrick Newell said he’d been searching for his brother for two weeks before his death.
Heavy was also a devoted Arsenal fan and regularly appeared on AFTV.
