Greg James has risked angering Little Mix – and their impressively loyal fanbase – by slating the music that they make.

The 34-year-old BBC Radio 1 host has let slip that he was not a fan of the Little Mix single Touch, released in 2016, and point blank lied to the faces of band stars Leigh-anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards.

The radio host hinted he would have banned the X Factor winners’ top 4 single from 2016 if he had his way.

However, he instead was forced to grin and bear it – as well as lie through his teeth – as he was was duty bound by the BBC playlist to play the girls’ music.

Greg told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s a tricky balance. If somebody brings out a record you don’t like, you are not going to say, ‘We are not going to play that. Come back again in a bit’.

“I have had to lie to Little Mix before when I have not liked their follow-up to Shout Out To My Ex.

“We have all been there.”

Little Mix have enjoyed four UK number 1 singles in their careers so far – since first finding fame on X Factor way back in 2011.

The ladies have also released five studio albums and are hard at work writing tunes for their sixth.

The band are also poised to launch their own reality show which will seek to uncover hidden music taken in the UK.

Little Mix: The Search is due to air on the BBC later this year.

The show will see Little Mix putting groups together – much like how they were manufactured for TV and the charts back on their X Factor days.

Jade previously warned that their musical match-making skills might not necessarily work out.
