Paul Gascoigne says a £140,000 jewelry burglary from his home could be partly down to Piers Morgan – but he doesn’t hold a grudge.

The 53-year-old football legend is devastated after a collection of personal treasures were stolen from his home in Poole, Dorset, while he was attending the filming of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories honouring his friend Vinnie Jones.

However, Gazza says police believe 55-year-old Piers may have unintentionally tipped off criminals he was away from home when the GMB presenter shared a photo of them together in a London film studio.

Despite thousands of pounds worth of goods being stolen from his home – including a gold watch he inherited from his dad, John, 72, when he died of cancer in 2018 – the football legend isn’t angry with Piers.

While the crooks also made off with two steaks from Gazza’s freezer.

The former Newcastle, Everton and Middlesbrough midfielder said: “Police think that the picture Piers posted of us filming in London could have alerted burglars that I was away.

“But they must have been hungry, they took my two steaks out of the freezer.

One of the items stolen was a £40,000 diamond-encrusted watch bought with his first pay cheque from Spurs.

Proving he has no grudge against the Life Stories host, Gazza joked: “Piers, I’ll let you off on the gold watch, but you owe me two f**king steaks.”

Gazza’s involvement in the Vinnie Jones episode of Life Stories proved to be an emotional event.

Both sports legends teared up as they discussed their admiration for each other, with Vinnie branding Gazza: “One of the best, if not the best that I’ve played against.”

Becoming emotional, Gazza fought back tears and said: “It’s great to hear. It’s 30 years he’s been a friend of mine.”
