Iga Swiatek was unseeded and coming off a straight-sets loss in her last tournament when she arrived at Roland Garros two weeks ago.
Six matches later, the 19-year-old from Poland is a heavy favorite to win her first grand slam title against one of only two major champions in 2020.

Swiatek is a -190 favorite by DraftKings and a -182 favorite by BetMGM against Sofia Kenin (+155 by both) entering Saturday’s women’s final at the French Open. The teenager has blitzed her way through six matches at Roland Garros, dropping only 23 combined games and taking out No. 1 seed and 2018 champion Simona Halep.
That has led to her being installed as the clear favorite over Kenin, the 21-year-old who won the Australian Open earlier this year before reaching the fourth round of the U.S. Open.
Clay is not considered Kenin’s best surface, and the fourth seed needed three sets to win four of her first five matches, all against unseeded players. She did knock out seventh-seeded Petra Kvitova in straight sets in a highly competitive semifinal match (6-4, 7-5).
With a win, Kenin would become the first woman to win multiple grand slams in a year since Angelique Kerber in 2016. And there are only three major events in 2020 with Wimbledon canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But Swiatek has lost more than three games in just one of 12 sets in this year’s French Open, and has not dropped more than five combined games in any match, much less a full set.

The sportsbook is also offering -177 odds on the match being won in two sets by either player, compared to +145 odds that it goes the distance.
Among BetMGM’s prop bets is a -1.5 over/under wager for Swiatek (-162) on who will win the most games, with Kenin being offered at +115.
When the over/under is increased to 2.5 games, the odds shift to -134 for Swiatek and -106 for Kenin.
