Freddie Flintoff saw doctor after getting ‘dead fish’ penis while on bike ride

Presenter and former cricketer Freddie Flintoff had to seek medical attention after his penis went numb while on a bike ride.

The Top Gear star, 42, was on a charity bike ride marathon from Athens to London when he lost feeling in his penis three days in.

Freddie revealed to The Sun : “It just suddenly went numb, as if I’d trapped it in a door. It was like a dead fish.

“I said to the medic, ‘Doc, I’m afraid you’re going to have to have a look at my old fella, I can’t feel it’.”

However, the former cricketer was left surprised by the doctor’s reaction as he rather calmly revealed that this was a common occurrence amongst cyclists.

“I was quite taken aback,” said Freddie, birth name Andrew.

“Apparently, it was to do with something called the penile nerve.”

It was days, however, until Freddie’s penis was feeling life its old self again.

“The old fella only started to resurrect itself about three days after I arrived in London,” noted Freddie.

The bike ride eventually rose £2million for the epic marathon in 2012, which Freddie completed with former rugby England captain Lawrence Dallaglio, 47.

Meanwhile, Freddie also spoke about why he finds it difficult wearing Lycra for cycling, as he feels like he’s exposing himself.

“Nobody needs to see that,” commented Freddie in his new book Right, Said Fred.

The revelations come after Freddie was recently praised for his eye-opening and emotional documentary on his experience with Bulimia.

Freddie Flintoff: Living with Bulimia saw the former cricketer detail in struggles with his weight and obsessive exercise.

One viewer tweeted as the documentary was shown: “I hope that so many people watch this and think about the impact of their words and behaviour on others.

“Such an incredibly courageous thing to do #FreddieFlintoff#mentalhealth#bekind “.

Meanwhile, Top Gear fans can see what Freddie gets up to next with co-presenters Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness on Sunday, where they pay tribute to the late Sir Stirling Moss.
