Ella Henderson’s “lockdown success story” with Team GB boyfriend Jack Burnell
EXCLUSIVE: The singer, best known for her time on The X Factor, lifted the lid on her blossoming romance, which has thrived during the past few months
Lockdown love affairs seem to officially be a thing.
Singer Ella Henderson has revealed how her boyfriend, Team GB swimmer Jack Burnell, has been “a great influence” on her during the pandemic.
The pair met at the start of the year but the romance intensified during lockdown, despite them living apart.
And Ella, 24, says they support each other in their separate “stressful arenas”.
She explains: “I’m in a very happy relationship.
“We’re a lockdown success story – he’s been a great influence on my life at this time. We clicked and are like best mates.”
Jack, 27, is currently training for the Olympics. But Ella adds: “We don’t know if it’s going ahead or not. He supports me with my music and I support him with his world.
“We’re both in stressful arenas, in our own different bubbles.”
Jack gushed earlier this year on social media about Ella: “Finding this one was the ultimate plot twist…you make me forget about yesterday and dream about tomorrow.”
Ella admits she likes swimming (probably a good thing) and hopes to make a splash in the charts with new single Dream On Me with legendary DJ Roger Sanchez, co-written with MNEK and Wrabel.
She penned the song about missing friends during the 2020 horror show.
She also credits Rylan Clark-Neal for getting her through it, saying: “Rylan can cheer you up come rain or shine. He’s hilarious.”
She also hopes to get in the studio soon with US star Pharrell Williams after a planned session was canned.
She reveals: “His schedule got moved and so did mine. But maybe in the near future, when everything goes back to some form of normal.”
