Elaine Paige says her secret to staying in shape is eating just one meal a day
The musical theatre legend, who starred in Cats and Chess, says she is “careful” with her diet, “tries not to overindulge” and tries to keep her chip consumption low
Actress Elaine Paige reveals her secret to staying in shape at 72, saying: “I’m a one meal per day girl.”
The musical theatre legend admits she is “careful” with her diet and “tries not to overindulge”.
She has “one fabulous lunch or early evening supper with a glass of wine” each day, giving examples of her main meals as chicken stir fries or steak and salad with “a few naughty chips”.
Elaine, who starred in BBC series, Life, says: “I’m not gaining weight, so I would recommend it. And I’m not deliberately depriving myself.
“If I do want a snack or a piece of chocolate I have it.”
Evita star Elaine took up online exercise classes in the first lockdown while tennis, her favourite exercise, was barred.
She thinks the ban during this lockdown is “crazy” when opponents are “miles down the other end of a court”.
Elaine is hosting live streamed animal adoption event West End Woofs at 7pm tonight on broadway.com, where it will also be available to view after.
She has also recorded a cover of Sing a Rainbow, in support of The Children’s Trust.
