Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford enjoy rare date night by phonelight
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes took some time out from their busy schedules to enjoy a romantic dinner, which they ate under the light of the torches on their phones
Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes lead very busy lives, but managed to fit in a romantic date night on Tuesday evening.
The This Morning presenting duo, both 60, went out for dinner together but the restaurant was so dark that they could only read the menu by using the torches on their phones.
Sitting at the dining table on opposite sides, they were hunched over as they struggled to read the menu in the strangely dark venue.
Ruth looked typically glam in a red, black and white patterned top, while Eamonn kept covered in a black jumper with a white top underneath.
They weren’t alone on their date, as Eamonn revealed in the comments that they were joined by one of his sons, who snapped the picture.
He didn’t say which of his three boys was there with them.
Eamonn captioned the picture: “Menu by phonelight …. but worth waiting for.”
Their date night comes amid claims the duo are worried about being axed from This Morning.
Ruth and Eamonn typically present the show on Fridays or from Monday to Thursday during school holidays when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are off.
It’s claimed they are at risk of losing the Friday morning slot amid rumours ITV are desperate to shake up their presenter roster.
An internal ITV research group have launched a poll to gauge thoughts on changing up the presenters lists on the long-running daytime TV show, The Sun reports
A source said: “The show’s execs have some very tricky decisions. Eamonn fears he is basically too ‘pale, stale and male’, and, at 60, perhaps not in line with the youth drive broadcasters are after.
