Donald Glover has revealed that his girlfriend Michelle White has given birth to their third child amid lockdown.
The actor/musician – who is professionally known as Childish Gambino – is already a proud dad to sons Legend, three, and two-year-old Drake.
Speaking to British GQ, Donald confirmed that the pair welcomed their third baby boy months ago, as they opted to keep the news a secret at the time.
He said: “I had [a kid] during the coronavirus.
“It was nuts. I was in the hospital bed. My son had just been born, like, an hour before, and I was watching the George Floyd video.”
Although singer didn’t specify when his third song was born, George Floyd was ruthlessly murdered by a white police officer on May 25, meaning his newborn most likely arrived in late May or June.
Donald previously released a song titled This Is America – in which he talks about police brutality and racism – topics he has always shed a light on throughout his career.
He added: “It was such a weird moment. It was such an intense, weird moment, because I’m watching that video and it’s, like, eight minutes long, so you’re sitting there and I had just had this amazing, joyful, expanding moment, plus my dad had passed away recently, so [my son] was named after my father.”
He revealed that he was also named after his late father Donald McKinley Glover Sr., who passed away in 2018.
He added: “I don’t even know what, really, the word is to describe it. It was just expanding: the empathy and compassion and the terror and the joy of it.”
Donald and Michelle welcomed their first son Legend back in 2016, before their second son Drake was born in 2018.
