Dominic West’s wife wants to ‘leave actor and return to Ireland’ after scandal

Dominic West’s wife Catherine FitzGerald is reportedly eyeing a permanent return to Ireland and could even be close to leaving her husband.

The 49-year-old landscape designer, who shares four children with Dominic, is said to still be devastated after pictures of her husband emerged alongside Lily James last month.

The Affair star, 51, was spotted kissing Lily, 31, on a romantic break to Rome in October.

Days after the steamy photos emerged, Dominic rushed home and staged a photoshoot alongside his wife during which they claimed their marriage was still going strong.

However, friends close to the mum of four have suggested to the MailOnline that she is ‘still mad’ about the scandal and that their relationship is ‘not working’.

“He lives this other life where he’s away at least half the year and she and the kids are waiting for him,” an insider told the publication.

“She’s living in a house in England for his career when I think anyone who knows her knows she would much rather be home in Ireland.

The source added: “The pictures of Dominic in Rome show just how separate their lives have become.

“Catherine is still mad about Dominic but it’s plainly not working. She’s been humiliated. Painful as it is, this looks like it could be the time to leave him.”

Since the scandal, reports revealed that Dominic’s wife had returned to her family’s ancestral home where she was having ‘crisis talks’ with her sisters over the future of her marriage.

Catherine also allegedly told close friends that she was ‘struggling to see a way past this,’ with their marriage hanging by a thread.

The reports mark a stark contrast to the united front that Dominic and Catherine put on outside their home after the pictures surfaced.

Lily – who met Dominic on the set of The Pursuit Of Love – has so far dodged questions about their relationship.
