Dominic West and wife ‘flee UK and hole up at family castle in Ireland’
Actor Dominic West and his wife Catherine Fitzgerald have reportedly left the UK and flown to Ireland to hole up at the 15-bedroom castle where they married a decade ago
Dominic West and his wife Catherine Fitzgerald have reportedly left the UK and flown to Ireland where they are holed up at the castle where they tied the knot.
The actor’s marriage was thrust into the spotlight this week after he was pictured kissing co-star Lily James, 31, in Italy over the weekend.
He emerged yesterday for a photocall with Catherine outside their home in Wiltshire.
After kissing for the cameras, they held up a handwritten note declaring their marriage is still “strong” and they are “very much” stil together.
Now the Mail Online reports the pair have packed up and left their house in Wiltshire and flown to Ireland with their four kids.
The couple own Glin Castle in Limerick, which has been in Catherine’s family for generations, and was the location of their 2010 wedding.
The publication reports Dominic and Catherine plan to spend the upcoming half term break at the castle with their kids where they can enjoy some time out of the spotlight.
Catherine grew up at Glin Castle and her father was the 29th and final Knight of Glin.
After his death, Catherine’s mother Olda decided to sell the castle so her daughter and her actor husband stepped in to buy it and keep it in the family.
They have since turned it into a hotel and wedding venue, as well as keeping part of it as a family home.
Dominic and Catherine dated at university and they married at the castle in 2010.
They have four kids together, daughter Dora, 13, son Senan, 12, son Francis, 11, and Christabel, seven.
The Wire star is also dad to another daughter, actress Martha, 22, with his ex-girlfriend Polly Astor.
Dominic was pictured kissing his The Pursuit of Love co-star Lily during a trip to Rome on Sunday.
They are believed to have grown close after being forced into a bubble so they could film the show over the summer.
Lily is believed to be single after splitting from her boyfriend of five years, Matt Smith, last week.
She has since returned to work and was seen taking part in a video call to promote her new film Rebecca – a new adaptation of Daphne du Maurier’s classic novel.
She stars alongside Armie Hammer, who plays the role of widower Maxim de Winter made famous by Laurence Olivier in Alfred Hitchcock’s Oscar-winning 1940 film version.
