Des O’Connor ‘s heartbreaking last pictures shows him waving to his daughter through a window as he shielded during the coronavirus outbreak.

The telly legend died yesterday aged 88 a week after suffering a fall at his home in Buckinghamshire.

Back in May, the presenter was seen getting a visit from his daughter Kristina who was unable to hug her dad as he stayed indoors.

They were able to talk and wave at each other through a window and Kristina was seen wearing a T-shirt tribute to her famous father.

Des was pictured giving her a huge smile and thumbs up as they kept their distance.

The pictures were shared on social media by Des’ former TV co-star Melanie Sykes, who wrote: “Thought I’d share these brilliant pics of Des O’Connor and his daughter Kristina taken today. Lovely, wonderful Des.”

Kristina was Des’ daughter by his third wife, Jay Rufer.

She also shared a snap of herself cuddling up to her dad before lockdown.

He also had a daughter Karen O’Connor with his first wife Phyllis Gill, daughters Tracy and Samantha with second wife Gillian Vaughan, and a son, Adam, with Jodie Brooke Wilson.

The pictures marked a rare sighting of Des, who bowed out of showbiz in recent years.

He was previously pictured at Bonnie Lythgoe’s 70th birthday party in August 2019.

Former glamour model Linda, 60, posted a shot of the group on Instagram, writing: “Great to see Des O’Connor @bradderswalsh @kev_orkian Joe Pascquale @toffee1968 and the gang at Bonnie Lythgoe’s 70th Birthday party x.”

News of Des’ death was confirmed today.

His agent revealed he died in hospital yesterday a week after suffering a fall at home.

They said in a statement: “It is with great sorrow that I confirm that Des O’Connor passed away yesterday ).

“He had been admitted to hospital just over a week ago, following a fall at his home in Buckinghamshire.

“He was recovering well and had been in great spirits, visited by his family – in accordance with hospital lockdown regulations – and looking forward to going home.

“Unfortunately yesterday evening his condition suddenly deteriorated and he drifted peacefully away in his sleep.
