Demi Lovato’s savage dig at ex-fiancé Max Ehrich as she labels herself ‘unengaged’

Sorry Not Sorry singer Demi Lovato poked fun at her unsuccessful engagement to former flame Max Ehrich during her People Choice Awards speech

Demi Lovato cracked a savage joke about getting ‘unengaged’ at the People’s Choice Awards.

The 28-year-old singer joked that she had got engaged and ‘unengaged’ during lockdown as she made light of her crumbling relationship with ex-fiancé Max Ehrich.

The Sorry Not Sorry singer, who hosted the 2020 awards, said that this year was the longest year of her life as she kicked off the long-awaited show.

Addressing the elephant in the room, she began: “Honestly this year has been the longest year of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammy’s and sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

“But then Covid hit, and everything shut down. So, I did what everyone else did.

“I went into lockdown mode and got engaged. I got into painting, photography, meditation, tested the limits of Postmates unlimited. I also didn’t know this could happen, but I reached the end of Instagram four times.

“I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged, and then I went looking for aliens in the desert. So basically, the same as everyone else.”

The former couple dated for five months before Max popped the all-important question to Demi.

Her savage jibe comes after reports that High School Musical 3 actor Max has moved on with a new girlfriend.

The handsome star sparked speculation about his blossoming romance with Sonika Vaid when he shared a number of loved-up snaps across his social media platforms.

However, sources close to the star have revealed his alleged romance with the American Idol contestant is “all for show”.

“He wants to make it look like he’s moving on with another woman, but they’re not dating. She’s in a full relationship and lives with her boyfriend,” they told Page Six.

The source continued: “He’s trying to get back at Demi and make her jealous. It’s all phony.”

Meanwhile, Demi remains single after she split from the star in September after their two-month engagement.
