The body of a man has been found in woodland near Gwrych Castle, where I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! is being filmed over the weekend.
The discovery was made off Abergele Road near Lady Emily’s Tower just after 10am on Saturday morning (November 28), reports the Daily Post.
Police officers attended the scene, which is 1.3km to the west edge of the woods behind the castle, but said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
The matter has now been handed to the North Wales coroner, North Wales Police have said.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We were notified at 10.57am on Saturday, November 28, by the Welsh Ambulance Service.
“The body of a man, who we understand had been on a mountain bike in woods off the Abergele Road was discovered.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has been informed.”
The location of I’m A Celebrity was moved from Australia to north Wales this year when travel became disrupted as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
ITV settled on the historic Gwrych Castle to host their flagship show, with a crew descending on the grounds ahead of the launch to get the 200 year old building ready for the 2020 line-up of celebs.
While hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been presenting live from the castle six nights a week.
