David and Victoria Beckham have been given the go ahead to build to a huge garden pond on the grounds of their Cotswolds property.
The Beckhams have been staying at the Chipping Norton country pile during lockdown, which is already estimated to be worth an eye-watering £6 million.
And while it’s already a sight to behold, the house is undergoing a major change that will morph its back garden into something even more impressive.
Plans seen by Gloucester Live show the four metre-deep pond will have an approximate surface area of 3,000 square metres, which is just under the size of half a football pitch,
The planning application lays out the Beckhams’ vision for the “kidney-shaped” pond, submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council in June.
It adds that the pond will be designed “to look like a natural water feature” and “will not be visible from any neighbouring properties.”
It looks as though it will be located toward the back of the garden, with the application requiring the Beckhams include a hibernacula – an animal shelter for the winter.
They will also have to include the “planting and infilling of hedgerows using native species” and think up a “five-year maintenance plan.”
Victoria and David’s reps had nothing to add when approached by Mirror Online.
The family’s been all smiles recently after Victoria and David’s eldest lad Brooklyn announced that he was to be married to American fiancee Nicola Peltz.
The 21-year-old photographer popped the question to Nicola after spending quarantine with her across the pond.
“Two weeks ago I asked my soul mate to marry me and she said yes xx,” Brooklyn wrote, “I am the luckiest man in the world.
“I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day.
“I love you baby xx.”
And it’s thought their big day will see a truly star-studded guest list.
The Sun reports that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be receiving an invite in the post, as will Sir Elton John.
