Love Island winner Dani Dyer has blasted “lazy” social media firms for not silencing vicious trolls.

Dani, 23, spoke out after fellow Island veteran Molly-Mae Hague was abused over pictures of her in a bikini while on holiday in Ibiza with Tommy Fury last week.

Speaking to the Mirror, Dani said users of sites such as Instagram should have to give passport details to stop fake accounts being set up.

“Social media companies need to do more but they are not doing anything,” Dani said.

“They can do something but they are lazy. That’s the problem.

“On Instagram you shouldn’t be able to have loads of fake accounts – I can make 10 fake if I want to.

“I think you should have a passport or something to be verified.

“I don’t understand why you are allowed to fake an account and make someone feel rubbish about themselves.”

She said of Molly-Mae’s abuse: “I don’t like it when people comment on other people’s weight. She looked amazing.

“I just don’t know why it’s allowed because people are like sheep. If it’s in fashion to call someone ugly, everyone does it.

“I do try to keep my mouth closed when it comes to trolling but I have to do my bit.”

Molly-Mae, 21, was fuming over the cruel comments about her recent bikini snaps.

She said: “I would love to know who writes these comments? How can you write s*** like that and sleep at night? Beyond me.”

Dani stormed to victory on ITV2’s Love Island with then-boyfriend Jack Fincham in 2018. They then starred in ITVBe’s Jack & Dani: Life After Love Island but split in April 2019.

Jack said at the time: “We have some amazing memories and have been through a lot but sometimes things aren’t meant to be.”

Dani has since starred in the musical Nativity, as well as being an MTV presenter.

This week she is launching a new fashion range with Dubai-based brand Beach City.

And she may also try her hand at soaps one day like her EastEnders star dad, Danny. “I would never say never to it,” she said.
