Cyberpunk 2077 Full Map From Physical Version Of Game Gets Leaked Ahead Of Schedule

CD Projekt Red‘s next open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077, is currently scheduled to be released for current-gen consoles and PC next month, but a map of the game’s location, called Night City, has been leaked online ahead of schedule.

The full map that was leaked is a physical map that is included with the game’s physical copies, and while it’s smaller than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, its density and verticality will certainly make up for that. You can take a look at Cyberpunk 2077’s physical map in the photo below.

Cyberpunk 2077’s verticality was touched on recently by CD Projekt Red’s senior concept artist and coordinator Marthe Jonkers, who explained why Night City opened up more possibilities than were available in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

“The city is really the core of Cyberpunk 2077. We approached it very holistically; we started with very big ideas of the city and then went into detail and detail and detail and detail. We have an urban planner in the team, for instance, which really helps us with the map and the layout to make the city feel very realistic.

“We now have this option of vertical exploration that we didn’t really have in The Witcher, which was more of a spread-out map. We really take advantage of that, and we have a lot of ways of going up and down.”

Recently, CD Projekt Red revealed the different origin stories for Cyberpunk 2077’s customizable male or female protagonist, as the player has three options to choose from.

Street Kid – V will be from the Heywood district, and his/her childhood memories include: “robbing buildings, running away from badges, and the taste of blood from a split lip.” With this backstory, V will come from a place where everyone is constantly fighting for a “slice of the street.” Nomad – The Nomad backstory is a more peaceful upbringing for V, as the game’s main protagonist spends their formative years in a rural location, before ultimately deciding to move towards Night City because his/her family is “in pieces.” In the game, Nomads have a powerful hunger for freedom and are willing to do whatever it takes to find it. Corpo – V will begin his or her journey as a corporate employee, where they’re working under Saburo Arasaka, who is 158 years old and is described as being megalomaniacal and obsessed. The Corpo boss also says that he hates America, and says that his duty is to elevate Japan to its former glory. With this backstory, V is, or was, responsible for keeping Arasaka in power.

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently scheduled to be released for current-gen consoles in November, and its full-blown next-gen release will happen sometime next year.
