Strictly’s Clara Amfo teases who her dance partner is and admits she’s ‘sick excited’

Clara Amfo has revealed that she’s “sick excited” to find out who her Strictly Come Dancing partner for this year’s series is.
The Radio 1 DJ is set to take to the famous ballroom this month, but said she has no idea who she’ll be walking out with.
Clara revealed she was itching to know who her dance partner was, saying she’s feeling a rollercoaster of emotions ahead of the show.
She said: “I am sick excited. You know when you are a kid and are so excited the day before your birthday or Christmas? I’m that kind of sick excited, because today I can let you know that I am going to be meeting my partner for Strictly Come Dancing.”
Clara went on to tease who her partner will be, giving fans five pro dancer’s names: “I’m doing Strictly this year, which is a sentence I never thought I’d say but here we are. It’s been a year of surprises.
“In the Radio 1 building, right now, is my partner for however long I last in the show. So, these are the options that I have for a partner this year…
“It could be… Johannes Radebe, it could be Anton du Beke, it could be Giovanni Pernice, it could be Gorka Marquez, it could be Aljaž Škorjanec.”
She went on: “The person is in the building today, I will be meeting them shortly and I’ve got to make a great first impression.
“Now, usually I come to work without any makeup on – everyone that works here knows this – but I came to work today with a full slap on because come on, we’re going to be on TV.
“That will disappear within the first two days of training…probably the first day of training. It’s about how I connect with my partner, it’s about the energy, it’s about the vibe.”
Clara revealed that not knowing who it is is making her even more excited, and insisted she was completely left in the dark about which pro will take to the dancefloor with her.
She said: “Out of these five guys, there’s loads of different languages spoken, if you are a superfan of the show you know they’ve all got their different specialities and interests.
“I don’t know who it is, literally have no clue. I feel sick with excitement as to who it could be. I honestly can’t call it.”
She added: “Whoever it is…I hope you have a cheeky sense of humour. I hope you like red velvet cake. I hope you always carry hand cream on you – because everyone knows that’s one of my biggest things, can’t be caught ashy in these streets.
“I hope you are down to laugh a lot, but maybe not at me if I fall over flat on my face.”
