Cheryl Burke took to her own YouTube channel this weekend and she opened up about her experience with abusive relationships in the past! The Dancing with the Stars celeb got really candid and even admitted that she considers what she has with her husband Matthew Lawrence, the only relationship in her life that she does not see as fitting an ‘abusive pattern!’
This comes after Burke also previously opened up about being sexually abused when she was still a minor.

Now, in the lengthy YouTube video, she admitted, along with other things, that she used to be ‘addicted’ to dating toxic men!
Opening up about her first sexual experience at the age of 13, she explained that ‘It was something I did because I felt like I had to, in a way, to keep a boyfriend.’

She stressed that she kept doing that throughout her teen years and early twenties!
The pattern finally changed when Cheryl started dating her current husband!
‘Looking back, I think the first relationship I’ve ever had that did not fit the abusive pattern was when my now husband Matt and who I dated the first time around back in 2007. I honestly think that at the time when we dated, I did not clearly love myself enough to think I deserved to be with somebody who was nice to me. And I was wrapped up in this new get-out-of-jail-free card, L.A. party lifestyle, whereas he’d already kind of been there and done that, as he grew up in this industry.’
As fans know, the two actually put an end to their relationship once, back in 2008.
However, almost a decade later, in 2017, they found each other again and rekindled their romance!
Finally, last year, they tied the knot, becoming husband and wife after so many years.
