Dame Deborah James dies from bowel cancer age 40
Deborah James has been remembered as an “incredibly strong woman” after she died aged 40.
The BBC podcast host battled bowel cancer for five years, with her family releasing a tragic statement tonight to confirm she had passed away, with tributes soon flooding in for the star.
Taking to social media, her friends and fans alike paid tribute to the podcast host as her family shared a poignant final message from Deborah herself, where she urged people to love life.
“Find a life worth enjoying; take risks; love deeply; have no regrets; and always, always have rebellious hope. And finally, check your poo – it could just save your life,” her final message read.

Tributes quickly poured in for Deborah, as they remembered her strength.
Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins penned: “Oh no…heartbreaking news that @bowelbabe has left us. What an inspiration, a truly special person who saved lives & did so much to help others. Who showed that even a terminal diagnosis wasn’t going to stop her living life to the full. So much love to her family & friends.”
“Utterly heartbroken. I don’t even know what to write. Thank you for teaching me all about Rebellious Hope Deborah.
“I am so thankful to have known you even for a short period of time. You really showed the world just how special you are and you will leave a legacy for us all, even though I knew this day was coming, something inside me just didn’t believe it. Rest in paradise Debs, you will be so so missed by us all xxxx,” one friend wrote in tribute.
