Carol McGiffin says she’s ‘touched a nerve’ after Piers Morgan blocks her

Loose Women star Carol McGiffin appears to have touched a nerve with Piers Morgan after he blocks her Twitter account following her criticising a recent tweet

Loose Women star Carol McGiffin thinks she has “touched a nerve” after Piers Morgan blocked her on Twitter.

Carol shared an image that showed that Piers had prevented the Loose Woman from accessing his account.

Captioning the screenshot, Carol penned: “Touched a nerve???”

The blocking occured after Carol hit out at Piers on Twitter as he shared his thoughts on the nation’s attitude to the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

Piers had tweeted on Friday night: “To everyone on here deluding themselves that Covid is ‘over’, take a look at Spain’s case & death rate in the past week. Then wake the f**k up. This pandemic has barely started.”

However, Piers’ strong stance regarding the coronavirus pandemic did not sit well with Carol.

She replied to his tweet: “Piers. The only deluded person around here is you. No one’s buying your hysterical bulls**t anymore. You did a brilliant job of scaring the nation into paralysis but it’s over now.”

Following on from her criticism of Piers’ tweet, Carol went on to retweet further messages against Piers’ stance and recent behaviour.

One tweet she shared reads: “Piers you’ve been flying abroad, mixing with people, approving of your son attending a BLM march – if you genuinely believed this virus was some kind of deadly plague you would do none of those things stop your irresponsible scaremongering you’re destroying people’s mental health”.

“Oh I see Cpt. Death is back, whipping up fear and negativity,” commented another Twitter user whose thoughts Carol shared.

Finally, Carol retweeted: “Wake up, calm down, wake up, calm down …. make your mind up Piers”.

Earlier in the evening, Piers had responded to a tweet that applauded the news of zero deaths in UK hospitals due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Piers commented: “The falling covid death rate is very encouraging – the increasing R number less so.

“We all need to remain vigilant & careful – as I believe most rational people are doing.”

In addition to sharing his thoughts on Covid-19, Piers has also said he believes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be stripped of their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Sharing a clip of Meghan Markle discussing the US presidential election, Piers tweeted: “The Queen must strip the Sussexes of their titles. They can’t remain as royals & spout off about foreign elections in such a brazenly partisan way.”

Piers returns to Good Morning Britain in the coming weeks.
