The Cleveland Browns placed quarterback Baker Mayfield on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Sunday after he was found to be in close contact with a staff member who tested positive, the team announced.
The team said it received the positive test for the staffer on Saturday morning.
The Browns, who have a bye this week, could have Mayfield back at practice by Wednesday if he tests negative throughout that period.

Cleveland (5-3) hosts the Houston Texans on Nov. 15. The Texans (1-6) play the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-6) on Sunday. Mayfield, 25, has started every game this season and thrown for 1,514 yards with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Approximately half the league’s teams were dealing with at least one case of COVID-19 this week as cases spiked across the country, but the Sunday morning results were all clear and all 12 Sunday games are on schedule to be played, per ESPN.
