Brooklyn Beckham is rising above comments made by ex-girlfriend Lexy Panterra as he is “so happy” being engaged to Nicola Peltz.
The 21-year-old has said that ‘nothing can bring him down’ despite his ex claiming he is “too immature” to get married.
Lexy, 30, hit out at Brooklyn and warned 25-year-old Nicola that he “has a new chick every month,” despite David and Victoria Beckham’s son having “zero doubts” about tying the knot.
A source told Hollywood Life : “Brooklyn’s so happy right now, nothing can bring him down.
“It’s a bummer that Lexy chose to speak badly about him but it won’t get to him.
“The only thing that matters to him is that Nicola wants to marry him, what Lexy thinks about it really doesn’t matter.”
Dancer Lexy, who dated Brooklyn in 2017, had hit out at him, claiming in an interview that she was “shocked” that he had put a ring on it with Nicola.
Speaking to The Sun, she said: “I was pretty shocked and confused when I heard he got engaged.
“It’s not something anyone was expecting and, honestly, Brooklyn is not ready for that. He is very young and way too immature.”
Brooklyn and Nicola have been dating since October 2019 and on July 11, told the world about their big news in an Instagram post.
Sharing a photo of them together, they announced: “Two weeks ago I asked my soulmate to marry me and she said yes xx I am the luckiest man in the world.
“I promise to be the best husband and the best daddy one day [heart emoji] I love you baby xx.”
Despite some claiming that he is too young to get engaged, a source told Hollywood Life: “Brooklyn feels 100 percent ready to get married to Nicola, he has zero doubts.
“Her love has transformed him in a lot of ways, He’s more grounded, it’s like he has this sense of calm now that he’s got the love of his life by his side.”
