Katie Piper has bravely shared unseen harrowing snaps from her horrific acid attack in 2008 that left her scarred for life.

The TV presenter, who was attacked by her obsessive ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch and an accomplice 12 years ago, shared the photos as she took part in a viral social media challenge on Friday.

The 36-year-old telly star completed the “how it started” versus “how it’s going” trend, which involves Twitter users sharing throwback snaps of themselves compared to how they’re doing now.

Brave Katie joined the trend by showing her fans how she was undefeated by the life-changing incident.

In one snap, Katie was bed-bound in hospital, covered in bandages and blood while hooked up to machines.

She looked in serious pain as she was attended to by a doctor, shortly after acid was thrown in her face by Stefan Sylvestre.

Katie was aged 24 when her life flashed before her eyes in the ambush set-up by her ex.

In the second photo posted in her challenge, Katie’s face was captured on a huge billboard outside of Westfield shopping centre in London as she showed off her latest modelling campaign.

Since the attack, Katie has since become one of Britain’s best-known models and the face of Pantene hair care.

She has not let the horrific incident change her life, and proves to her fans that they can do anything.

The star is now an advocate for The Katie Piper Foundation, and helps people with burns and scars to get their life back on track.

She received lots of support from her celebrity pals and her fans after sharing the challenge.

Stacey Dooley wrote: “YES YES YES YESSSSSSS.”

While another wrote: “The most beautiful woman, how anybody would want to hurt such a gentle sole is beyond disbelief. Something you didn’t deserve, the pain you’ve went through each gruelling operation but you’ve come out with such will power amazes not just me but everyone. Role model.

“Also you won’t be defeated and that is such a strong message to everyone.”

A third added: “You’re an absolute legend. I wish you’d never have become famous in the way you did. I’m sorry for the pain you still go through. But damn girl you’re one big inspiration to all of us and a beacon of bravery in a dark world. Much love x.”

Brave Katie has carved out a successful career for herself since the attack, and will not let anything stop her.

Her attacker was jailed in 2009 for a minimum of six years, and was released in 2018.

He was later jailed in November 2019 after a string of car thefts, but is set to return to the outside world once more after a parole board panel ruled that he could go free again, earlier last month.

Katie’s ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch was given two life terms behind bars after the attack.
