A woman from Texas is filing a lawsuit against Brad Pitt, claiming that the Hollywood actor charmed her with talk of marriage, potential speaking engagements, and more. Lawyers for Brad Pitt, however, say she was tricked by someone online impersonating Pitt.
Reportedly, Kelly Christina, a healthcare CEO from Plano, Texas, claimed in court papers that she paid $40,000 for Brad to make an appearence through his charity, Make It Right Foundation, which helps build homes in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina.
Court documents obtained by the New York Post say that the pair even talked about getting married. For Pitt and his legal team, however, they have no responsibility because Brad’s lawyer says she was tricked by someone who was impersonating him on the internet.
The Academy Award winner’s team filed a motion in a Texas court on Wednesday saying that he has never worked with Christina and they filed to have the case dismissed. Christina reportedly admitted that she was fooled by men who were impersonating him.

Furthermore, Christina says Pitt was supposed to appear at a number of events but wound up canceling each time but still kept the $40,000. A source close to the case said it was just another sad case of someone being duped into believing they were working with a celebrity.
“Hopefully others can learn from this unfortunate situation,” the insider remarked. In response to Pitt and his legal team, Christina said she had organized 113 pages of discovery material which support her charges and allegations.
Moreover, Christina said she wasn’t expecting the case to go away that “easily.” This wouldn’t be the first time someone was tricked into paying thousands of dollars to a fake celebrity online.
Last year, it was reported that a woman in the United Kingdom was duped into paying thousands of dollars to a man who was impersonating Jason Statham.
The story was fairly similar, with the victim claiming she was tricked into believing she was entering a romantic relationship with Statham. It was never reported if the woman managed to get any of her money back.
