Beyoncé has said creating her upcoming album Renaissance allowed her to “find escape during a scary time for the world”.
She also said she hopes the album will be a place fans can “release the wiggle” away from a world of perfectionism.
In a new post on Instagram, the pop superstar shared the album artwork and confirmed that her highly-anticipated seventh solo studio album will be released on July 29.
The 40-year-old, who rarely captions her posts, also gave further insight into her thought process behind the album, writing: “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.
“It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving.

“My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.
“It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
In the album cover, Beyoncé can be seen almost naked as she sits on top of a see-through horse. She is adorned in silver jewellery.

Fans couldn’t get enough of the picture, with her BeyHive taking to the comments to share how good she looks.
One person wrote: “OKAY QUEEN OF THE WORLD.”
Another said: “It’s the way you just made me damn near faint in this nail salon.”
A third fan commented: “Thank you Queen for always encouraging us to found power through our wiggle,” while another said: “This is probably the best post I have ever seen.”
Beyoncé recently released her first single from the album, with fans praising her for having “solidarity” with working people.

The single, Break My Soul, is listed as the sixth track on her upcoming album. In the song, the former Destiny’s Child star sings: “I just quit my job.
“Damn they work me so damn hard. Work by nine then off past five. And they work my nerves that’s why I cannot sleep at night.”
The song samples the 1990s club smash Show Me Love by Robin S and some fans have celebrated Beyoncé for releasing an “anti-capitalist dance bop”.
