Bella Thorne has ignited a fresh backlash after claiming to have been the “first” to launch an OnlyFans account.

The 23-year-old former Disney star caused furore earlier this year when she launched her own account on the X-Rated content sharing website.

Sex workers riled against the star when she made $1 million (£750,000) within 24 hours after opening a profile on the explicit website – an achievement which allegedly led to the website changing their terms and conditions and leading to some fellow users to claim they were forced to charge less for their own content and wait longer for their funds to reach them.

Bella has now kicked the hornets nest again by claiming to be the first to dip her toe into the world of the erotic website.

Taking to social media over the weekend, the actress posed for a selfie which she uploaded to Instagram stories with the caption: ““Everyone jumping on OnlyFans but I took the hit for doing it firsttttt coooool.”

Her comment caused anger from some fellow OnlyFans members.

One wrote on Twitter : “Hey @bellathorne, I’ve been making my living on onlyfans for like a year and a half now after seeing the success other sex workers had been having for quite some time on there. Tell me again how you did it first? Unclear on the timeline.

While another commented: “It’s the audacity for me.”

Bella had previously apologised after her launch success led to a cap on tips and a backlash from sex workers.

She said in August: “I wanted to bring attention to the site, the more people on the site the more likely of a behind sex work, porn, and the natural hatred people spew…behind anything sex related.

“I wrote and directed a porn against the high brows of my peers and managers because I WANTED to help with the stigma behind sex.”

While OnlyFans has been running since 2016, a string of high profile stars have started to share content on the site in recent months.

Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey, rapper Cardi B, and model Amber Rose are among other celebrities to share content – for a fee – on the website.
