Koei Tecmo and Gust have announced the Japanese release date for their upcoming game Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy. The game will first launch on PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch, with a PC release coming early next year. Atelier Ryza 2 is scheduled for a worldwide release, but right now, it appears the game will launch in Japan first.
Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy is a direct sequel to the first game and takes place three years after the ending. Ryza is also the first protagonist of the Atelier series, who has appeared as the main character in two games.
In the game, Ryza is the only one of her group who has remained on the island. She receives a letter from a friend with an unusual request. The letter takes her to the royal capital of Ashra-am Baird. This begins a new adventure to discover the mysterious ruins surrounding the capital. Characters form the previous game, along with new friends, were announced to appear in the game.
Atelier Ryza 2 will also have multiple special physical versions upon release. Fans can also purchase the digital download version that doesn’t come with any extra items. Players will also have the option to purchase the regular physical version of Atelier Ryza 2.
Atelier Ryza 2 will have two different collectors versions for the Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4. The Premium Box Edition is packaged with the physical game, Ryza’s notebook, a B2-sized cloth poster, clear folders, and two acrylic keychain charms. Players will also receive a code to download a special costume for Ryza.
The Special Collection Box comes with everything from the Premium Box, but more. Players will also receive an acrylic “Crystelier” three-piece set, an A1-sized wall scroll style illustration, and five “exploration set” items. They include an LED rainbow jewel, gemstone record book, book of magic notes, and a ballpoint pen all packaged inside of a white drawstring pouch with the game’s logo on the front.
The premium editions will be available for pre-order in the near future. The purchase pages are already up on Amazon Japan. It’s unknown if the worldwide versions of the game will come with these same collector’s items. The first game’s collectors set ranged from artwork, posters, and an acrylic charm.
The North American release date for Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy has remained as “Winter 2020.”
