Yesterday afternoon, Team Liquid faced off against Mythic for the Intel Extreme Masters Group Stage.
It’s strange to consider that Mythic typically stomps around the T2/3 scene with Erik Flom advocating and encouraging growth in the scene with Mythic League, and Liquid has gone toe-to-toe against the best teams that the world has to offer. To say that it was a lop-sided match-up is putting it as lightly as possible.
Mythic was invited into the Intel Extreme Masters due to how little competition there is at the moment within Counter-Strike for North America; there would be roughly four teams competing for IEM if not for Mythic, along with other teams, being invited to compete.
It has resulted in some bizarre matches where the casters and hosts struggled to put a positive spin on things, and yesterday was arguably no different: Mythic managed to put up nine rounds across two maps before Liquid closed them out in a clean sweep.
[embed]https://twitter.com/EliGE/status/1314302760448335878?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw[/embed]Yet the history of the teams doesn’t stop there: Liquid’s organization has brought on Moses as a new coach replacing Eric ‘adreN’ Hoag, and Eric is playing on Mythic team for the interim while he decides his new place within Counter-Strike, or esports in general.
The two teams are rather familiar with each other, although they typically fight in the server together during PUGs and the like, or at least know of their presence within the Counter-Strike sphere of influence.
So when the two teams clashed yesterday in a relatively fast match-up, it was tremendously enjoyable to watch if you understood the history between the two long-standing cultivators of their respective tiers. So it’s almost expected that people would want to see the chat logs of both teams throughout the server as they play through a competitive match; one of their first head to head matches ever.

The post-match interview had the analysts reaching for Davey of Team Mythic, where he offered one of the strangest courses in dialogue that Counter-Strike has likely ever seen; a feat that Davey is known for.

The chat logs are interesting enough to read, but it should put to bed any speculation that there is growing unrest between the two teams for North America.
