EastEnders star Jessica Plummer is already filming for a new role just weeks after her character was brutally killed off the BBC soap.

Jessica, 28, isn’t wasting any time in starting her next job after her character Chantelle Atkins was slaughtered on the Square.

Jessica – who captivated audiences in her role as the lovable but tragic character – had her final on-screen moment last month when her character was killed by her abusive husband Gray.

Jessica already currently filming for new TV series Auditions, written and directed by Sheridan de Meyers.

She’s staring in the series alongside another former EastEnders cast member, Gary Beadle, who played bad boy Paul Trueman.

Behind-the-scenes snaps show Jessica posing alongside Gary as the pair shed their EastEnders personas and move on to their next roles.

Inside Trak teased Jessica’s involvement in the series when they posted an obscured photo of her on set.

They asked followers: “Can you identify the actor, in this beautiful photograph?”

The production firm went on to confirm the actress’ involvement and reveal her identity earlier this week, as they posted a snap of the mum-of-one writing: “Well done to those who guessed…the mystery actor in the mood lighting photographs is non other, than the incredible Jessica Plummer!”

A second snap showed the star looking more serious as she filmed in front of a white screen in a studio, and a third showed her shooting scenes outside on a street in London.

It’s unclear what role Jessica is filling on Auditions but a montage of clips gave fans a sneak peek ahead of its release.

Jessica’s EastEnders character was ruthlessly murdered in harrowing scenes.

She died when her abusive husband Gray pushed her into the dishwasher and watched her bleed out.

He was about to call 999 when he realised he would be suspected and noticed the incriminating evidence that would immediately point police in his direction.

He then made efforts to blame her death on her own children, planting a toy truck where it would look like she had tripped over it and suffered her tragic injuries.
