Vanderpump Rules Canceled? Scheana Shay Sparks Rumors After Making This Big Announcement

This has not been an easy summer for the cast of Vanderpump Rules. Last month, Bravo fired four cast members – two vets and two rookies – because of racially insensitive comments and behavior. And, there have also been rumors swirling that two more cast members are on the chopping block.

Now, star Scheana Shay has revealed some big news, and it has some fans thinking that Vanderpump Rules will not be back for another season.

Earlier this week, Shay revealed that she is moving out of her Marina Del Rey apartment in Los Angeles and heading to the San Diego area in Mission Bay to live in her “dream condo” with boyfriend, Brock Davies.

This big news comes after Bravo fired Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute when the only black VPR cast member – Faith Stowers – revealed that they had called the police on her for a crime she didn’t commit. Bravo also fired newbies Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens after racially insensitive tweets resurfaced.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s future on Vanderpump Rules is also in question because of their own insensitive behavior toward Stowers.

Now that Shay is moving out of Los Angeles and SUR is closed due to the pandemic, does this mark the end of Vanderpump Rules?

Shay made it clear to fans that her move to San Diego was only “temporary.” SUR has been closed since March and the most recent season of Vanderpump Rules wrapped earlier this year. She has spent the last four months in Palm Springs during the quarantine.

“It’s too hot and now it’s lonely since it’s just me. Once work opens and picks back up in La I will get a small apt there again too. But for now, an unemployed bitch has gotta save her $$$,” wrote Shay.

The 35-year-old shut down rumors that she was leaving VPR and said that the Bravo reality series has not been canceled. She did confirm, though, that they haven’t started shooting yet for Season 9.

“Y’all just bc I’m moving now, does NOT mean I’m quitting the show,” Shay wrote. “I love my job!! We aren’t filming right now. SUR/LA is closed. I’m wasting so much $ on rent and I’m lonely all the way out in PS. It just makes sense. Once work opens/picks back up, I will too have an apt in LA!”

Scheana Shay wouldn’t confirm that the show had officially been renewed for Season 9, and told fans that they knew as much about the situation as she did.

“I know as much as y’all know. And all I know is we aren’t filming or open right now so I have no reason to be paying rent in La for the time being. Brock’s lease is up,” said Shay.
