Supergirl star Melissa Benoist has welcomed her first baby – and has delighted fans by sharing a photo via social media.

The 31-year-old TV star and her 32-year-old actor husband, Chris Wood, welcomed their first ever baby together earlier this month.

And the happy couple – who tied-the-knot in September 2019 – took to social media to announce their news on Friday afternoon – and explained that they had secretly been parents for “a few weeks”.

Taking to Instagram, Melissa uploaded a photograph of a tiny hand gripping a finger while resting on a soft grey coloured blanket.

She captioned the image: “Huxley Robert Wood got here a few weeks ago and this little boy is everything”, alongside a red hear emoji.

Husband Chris shared the same image, along with a message of his own.

He wrote: “Our son was born his name is Huxley.”

He continued: “He’s amazing and no it’s probably none of your business xo brb see you in 18 years.”

The images racked up over 1.5 million likes within hours as fans and followers rushed to congratulate the couple.

Melissa and Chris both star on Supergirl together – and began dating after meeting through work on the show in 2016.

The couple wed in a ceremony in Ojai, California, last year – six months after they became engaged.

Discussing the ceremony last year, a source told People magazine: “It was a beautiful setting for a wedding, very peaceful and quiet.

“The vows were brief and lasted about 15 minutes. There was lots of cheering and applause as it ended.”
